Our Valley Needs Your Help

We talk a lot about the need to gather food for our hungry friends and neighbors in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties. There’s a good reason - the number of people needing food is increasing dramatically, and unfortunately, it appears that it isn’t going to change anytime soon. So, as the need continues to increase, we need the next generation of volunteers to get geared up to serve in the same manner as those who are running agencies now. Read the information below and get inspired to start helping those in need around you.

Fulfill the Need

The food that our member agencies provide is the lifeblood for hungry families and individuals in our Valley. They are the arteries that get the food to those who need it most. Just as it is with our bodies, the more strong arteries there are, the better the overall health. Right now, the underserved communities in the Mahoning Valley need new agencies to assist with the increase in the number of people needing assistance. Communities that need new agencies include Knox, West Franklin and Madison Townships in Columbiana County. In Mahoning County, the need is in North Jackson, Austintown, Lake Milton, Ellsworth and Berlin Center. And in Trumbull County, additional pantries are needed in Farmington, Mecca, Southington, Leavittsburg and Bristol.

Start a Food Pantry

How can you help? If you’re a member of a church, synagogue or mosque, you can ask the clergy and other members if they would be willing to become a pantry. If you belong to a civic organization, you can inquire as to whether there is any interest.
