The Eastern Ohio Chiropractic Society (EOCS) is sponsoring its first Holiday Food Drive, from November 1 through November 21, to feed hungry families. Thirteen Mahoning Valley chiropractic practices are working together to collect 5,000 pounds of non-perishable food this holiday season.
“We were motivated to act by the startling realization that 1 in 4 children in the U.S. face food insecurity – in essence, these children have very limited access to nutritionally adequate food,” said Dr. Angel Ricciulli, President of the EOCS. “Our doctors can’t solve national food insecurity, but we can help ease food shortages across the Mahoning Valley, and we will.”
EOCS chiropractors are asking their patients to donate five or more non-perishable food items. New patients who donate food during the EOCS holiday drive will receive a complete health history and a detailed chiropractic consultation at no cost. All food will be donated to Second Harvest and distributed to our hungry friends and neighbors in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties over the holiday season.
