Home Savings Charitable Foundation Awards Grant to Second Harvest Food Bank

The Home Savings Charitable Foundation has awarded Second Harvest Food Bank a $10,000 grant toward the construction of a truck shelter.

The project will enclose the Food Bank’s three side-by-side loading docks on the east side of the warehouse to ensure that the Food Bank’s delivery trucks and driveway pad will be less exposed to snow and ice; to increase the safety of employees and drivers making deliveries to the food bank; and to reduce the amount of drain-clogging debris blown into the dock area through the dock doors.

“We greatly appreciate the continued support of the Home Savings Charitable Foundation,” said Michael Iberis, executive director, Second Harvest Food Bank. “The truck shelter project is fully funded, and construction will begin next month.”
