Grant Awarded from the Thomases Family Endowment

The Thomases Family Endowment of The Youngstown Area Jewish Federation awarded $4,800 to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley to purchase food storage bins.

“We are grateful to the Thomases Family Endowment for their continued support,” said Michael Iberis, executive director, Second Harvest Food Bank.  “Food storage bins are used to ensure food safety and for packing and storing backpacks for the BackPack Program.  The Food Bank is providing 1,150 bags to elementary school aged children each Friday during the school year, which is an increase of 350 bags each week over the previous year,” Iberis added.
