Clemens Garden Gifts in Salineville is helping to feed hungry families in the Mahoning Valley. Clemens Garden Gifts will be accepting non-perishable food items during their Open House on Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will also be donating $1 per hanging basket sold during the event to the Food Bank. In addition to the food collection, the day will include crafters, Amish baked goods and the Franklin Township Fire Department lunch stand. “We are grateful to Clemens Garden Gifts for their support, especially now, as we head into the summer months when children are home from school and lack access to school meal programs,” said Michael Iberis, executive director, Second Harvest Food Bank. “Fifty-three percent of the Mahoning Valley’s children are eligible for free and reduced priced meals,” Iberis added. For every $1 given, the Food Bank can distribute $11 worth of food to hungry families in the Mahoning Valley.
