Harvest For Hunger Week of Giving: April 1-7

Monday, April 1- “Money Monday”

Every $1 given, provides 6 meals.  You can help feed our friends and neighbors by donating on our Facebook page @SHFBMV or right here on our website!

Giant Eagle customers have a special way to give back tonight at the Giant Eagle located at 1201 Doral Drive in Boardman.  The folks from media sponsors 21 WFMJ and Lynn Davis, Y-103 and MaryAnn Graff, K-105 will be bagging groceries for shoppers supporting the campaign!  Customers can donate $1, $5 or $10 at the register. 

Tuesday, April 2 – Take a Tour Tuesday (1-3 pm)

Please stop by and take a tour of the Food Bank between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. to learn more about how the Food Bank distributes more than 10 million pounds of food in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties!

Wednesday, April 3 – How to Volunteer

Did you know that the Food Bank is a volunteer-dependent organization?  Last year, volunteers gave more than 12,000 hours to help feed our friends and neighbors.  Please call Christina Wagner at 330.792.5522 ext. 102 to see how you can help.

Saturday, April 6 “Supermarket Saturday”

Giant Eagle is the Supermarket Sponsor of the Harvest for Hunger campaign.  Howland Giant Eagle customers have a special opportunity (12:30-2:00 p.m.) to donate $1, $5 or $10 at the register and have their groceries bagged by the folks from 21 WFMJ and Matt Spatz, Y-103 and Justine Thomas, HOT 101.   

Sunday, April 7 “National Beer Day”

The Mahoning Valley Flight Crew is joining the Harvest for Hunger campaign and hosting Tips for a Cause at Noble Creature Cask House on Rayen Avenue in Youngstown from 1-3 p.m.  The Flight Crew will donate 100% of their tips to the Harvest for Hunger campaign.

The Food Bank's mission is to solicit, store, and distribute food to hunger-relief organizations in Columbiana, Mahoning, and Trumbull counties; and to provide education and advocacy. We believe that no one should go hungry, and we are dedicated to building a community that makes food accessible to all people.
