Youngstown, OH (03/30/12) American egg farmers once again supported Feeding America food banks nationwide by donating 12 million eggs to help feed hungry Americans. On April 2, Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley, a member of Feeding America, received 10,800 eggs or 900 dozen from Hillandale Farms in time for the Easter holiday.
“Because we are a family owned company, we have always supported our local Feeding America food bank. We know the need is great and want to do our part in providing local families with our egg products during the Easter season,” said Warren Figulski, representative for Hillandale Farms.
“We greatly appreciate this donation of eggs and the year-round support of Hillandale Farms,” said Michael Iberis, executive director of the Food Bank. “They are generous donors to our food bank and to Feeding America food banks throughout the state.”
