September is Hunger Action Month

We ask everyone in our community to take action against hunger in our area, all month long. Hunger Action Month is your opportunity to join a movement that has a real and lasting impact on our effort to feed more hungry individuals and families facing food insecurity.

Whether it’s by advocating and raising awareness, making donations or volunteering, we hope you can find a way that’s right for you to make a difference during Hunger Action Month.

A United Spring Campaign

Harvest for Hunger is an annual springtime campaign and collaborative effort of four local food banks across 21 counties to help fight hunger in Northeast Ohio. It is coordinated by the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank, Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley and Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio.

Feed Our Valley

The annual campaign that our local news WFMJ hosts call “Feed Our Valley.” This is an effort to educate people about hunger in the valley and raise vital donations of food and money in order to feed our hungry neighbors.

Thank you for your interest in partnering with us in our mission to end hunger in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties.

Get Some, Give Back

Country Fair’s Pump for Charity Program donates 2 cents of every loyalty gallon pumped at our 5 Mahoning Valley locations. Dates to be announced for 2025.

BoxLunch is a curated gift and novelty store with a cause! For every $10 you spend, we help provide a meal to a person in need. Located in the Eastwood & Southern Park Malls. For more information, please visit http://www.boxlunch.com/boxlunch-gives/

The Fight Hunger. Spark Change. Campaign at Walmart & Sam’s Club stores will be the entire month of March 2025. You can participate in 3 ways:

  • Donate at check-out including rounding up
  • Purchase specially marked products that suppliers donate the equivalent of at least one meal to our food bank
  • Donate online at Feeding America’s Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign site. All donations made in our area stay in our area.

Giant Eagle & GetGo locations in our tri-county area are collecting at the registers and pumps during their Check Out Hunger Campaign February 27 – May 31, 2025. Every $1 from customers helps us provide up to 5 meals.

Thank you for making a difference and helping us feed our hungry friends and neighbors – you may be helping someone you know …so no one goes hungry
