Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley provides food in 3 counties: Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull County. We do not distribute food directly from our facility, but we operate a number of public food distributions through our member agencies and Mobile Pantry.

Supporting Our Community Together

The Food Bank serves as a storehouse for large quantities of donated food and USDA commodities that are distributed daily to 160 hunger-relief organizations and programs located throughout our tri-county service area. These partners include church pantries, homeless shelters and meal sites, shelters for battered women, school pantries and after-school programs.  All member agencies must hold a 501(c)(3) designation from the IRS and have feeding hungry people as a major component of their program.

Second Harvest relies heavily on the generous support of volunteers from the community. Volunteers gave 11,257 hours of service in 2024, which equals 10 part-time jobs. In addition to volunteer support, the Food Bank is supported financially by individuals, companies, grants, foundations and the United Way. We are also the recipient of in-kind services from several local businesses.
